For as long as I can remember, whenever someone asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was always the same — a mom.

Some people know they don’t want kids, and I’ve always respected that. But for me, motherhood was never a question. It was something I felt deep in my heart long before it became my reality.

After a few years of marriage, my husband Nate and I decided we were ready to start our family. What we didn’t know was how much that journey would shape us.

In September of 2016, after a year of trying, we found out we were pregnant with our first baby. We were overjoyed — the kind of happiness that feels untouchable. But halfway through my pregnancy, everything changed.

At 24 weeks, we welcomed our daughter, Kara, into the world. She was tiny, strong, and so deeply loved — weighing just 1 pound, 6 ounces. She spent her entire life in the NICU, and after 28 days, we had to say goodbye.

On March 18, 2017, we lost our first baby girl — and a piece of us changed forever.

There aren’t words that fully explain that kind of loss. I remember wondering how we would ever move forward, or what life would even look like from there.

But life has a way of holding both grief and grace at the same time.

On January 10, 2018, we welcomed our second daughter, McKenzie Grace — named in honor of her big sister, Kara McKenzie. She brought light back into our lives in a way only she could.

In 2024, our family grew once more when we adopted our youngest, Amara — a chapter of our story that is just as meaningful and deeply loved.

Motherhood didn’t come to me the way I expected. It came with heartbreak, healing, and a kind of love that changes you forever.

And that’s exactly why I photograph the way I do. Because I know these moments matter.

Not the perfect ones — the real ones.

The way your child reaches for you. The chaos, the laughter, the in-between moments.
The season you’re in right now, exactly as it is

Your session doesn’t have to be perfect.

But the memories you make? They’ll be everything.

I can’t wait to meet you!

I know how quickly everything can change — that’s why I believe the moments you’re living right now are the ones worth holding onto
